With beautiful lacy shells and a summer-friendly silhouette, Melissa and Kiana make a chic addition to your wardrobe. Requiring no sewing, the construction enables you to alter the body width and length, and adjust the neck opening and armhole size as you go. Both tops can be made with different yarn weights, and can be easily customized and turned into an equally stylish tunic or oversized beach cover-up.
Both patterns are 20% off the list price of CA$8.00. The sale ends after July 27, 2020; no coupon code required. To learn more about these two designs and to purchase, please find Melissa here and Kiana here in my Ravelry Store.
This is a yarn swift. I probably would pinch my fingers using this thingy.
When you need to wind your yarn into balls, how do you do it? Do you own a yarn swift? Or do you have a willing helper?
For me, I always like to use what I have instead of purchasing and tinkering with more gadgets. And I also don’t have the patience to wait around for a pair of helping hands.
My favourite setup is my good old wooden chairs. I just hang my hank of yarn over the back side of two chairs, and voila! Oh, did I mention I like to stand when I wind my yarn? It’s a good break from sitting down too long over a knitting/crocheting project.
Can’t spare two chairs? One works too.
Your chair doesn’t have a back like that? No prob! Just put 2 large tins of canned food on the floor (or table) to hold the yarn for you. And you can choose to sit or stand to wind your yarn.
Bold yet feminine, Ashley features a beautiful leaf lace pattern and makes for a cozy accessory that wraps you up in instant style. The shawl knits up quickly with bulky weight yarn, and is worked from the point to the scalloped edge, enabling you to adjust the size easily as you go. The shawl can also be made with different yarn weights as you please.

A coordinating piece for the Aaron hat and mitts, this unisex scarf is as enjoyable to knit as it is to wear. The oversized scarf provides a perfect canvas to play up my original, rain-inspired stitch design with arresting juxtaposition of symmetry and asymmetry. With generous length and width to deliver extra warmth and coziness, the Aaron scarf easily doubles up as a wrap for chillier places. While the pattern offers one size knitted in sport weight yarn, the scarf is highly scaleable and can also be made with different yarn weights to suit your needs.
Finished measurements — 38cm wide x 193cm long (15” wide x 76” long). Pattern includes instructions on how to customize the size; yarn amount will vary.
